This full-time, Data Entry Clerk position has a Monday-Friday schedule, and is located at our Business Office in Arcadia!General Summary Of DutiesThe Data Entry Clerk is responsible for demographics, charges and payments. The data is downloaded or entered manually. The position requires monitoring daily work flow and contacting the proper persons and escalating to the Data Entry Coordinator when appropriate. Position is also responsible for keeping up with system changes (hospital, clinic, insurance companies) and communicating with other Team members.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)

  • Daily downloads from the hospitals and imaging centers or manual entry of charges as needed for assigned clients. Send and receive CodeRyte files as appropriate.
  • Insurance and referring physician mapping.
  • Maintain Exceptions and Anonymous for all practices, no more than 7 days out.
  • Statement, paper HCFA and electronic claims processing for all practices.
  • Post electronic remittance, manual checks, credit card payments, site payments, and zero pay EOBs
  • Prepare deposit tickets or process via remote deposit.
  • Reconcile ERA to EFT posted to bank account.
  • Research and process refunds to insurance or patients.
  • Work correspondence for assigned clients
  • Meet or exceed daily productivity goals.
  • Verify and process credit card payments accurately.
  • Answer incoming calls, provide professional customer service at all times.
  • Identify system issues and bring to management’s attention with possible solutions and/or suggestions.
  • Contribute to team goals and work on special projects.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Experience in an office setting environment using the telephone and computer as the primary instruments

to perform job duties

  • Basic proficiency with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications
  • Typing skills (minimum of 40 words per minute)
  • 10 key skills and basic math skills necessary
  • Must be comfortable working in a high volume, fast-paced environment.

  • Environment:Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment with extensive contact with individuals and frequent interruptions.
  • Physical:Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk and hear. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, type, operate a calculator, telephone, copier and such other office equipment as necessary. The employee is required to stand and walk. Will regularly stand, walk, carry, climb, and required to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Vision:See in the normal visual range with or without correction. It is necessary to view and type on computer screens for long periods. Must have ability to ability to see color and to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols. The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. The office has fluorescent lighting.
  • Hearing:Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
