About the job

We are Systematix and we are seeking a WordPress Developer responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating themes and plugins. This position requires a combination of programming skills (PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, etc.) and aesthetics (understanding element arrangements on the screen, the color and font choices, etc.)..

The candidate should have a strong understanding of content management systems and industry trends in web content development platforms. Experience with responsive and adaptive design is strongly preferred. A strong understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment is preferred.


  • Ensuring site high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of WordPress CMS
  • Maintaining and improving the company’s growing website, including designing and implementing new features and functionality and helping roadmap future architecture
  • Working with members of the broader Marketing & Communications team to develop landing pages, microsites, new features, and enhancement
  • Ensuring functional excellence in technical aspects of search engine optimization (SEO)
  • Managing WordPress database backups, maintenance, WP themes and plugins
  • Monitoring website performance & testing for possible improvements
  • Troubleshooting content, browser, or display issues and remedy as needed

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar field or equivalent experience required
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required
  • Proven WordPress experience required, including building and theming custom WordPress sites, writing or extending custom plugins, functions, and front-end code required
  • Strong understanding of full-stack web development for including PHP/MySQL, HTML5, precompiled CSS, JavaScript and JS frameworks required
  • Ability to self-manage and prioritize multiple projects at a time required
  • Experience with local development environments and managing code through source control (Git, SVN) CICD pipelines (Gitlab, Circle CI, BitBucket etc.) required
  • Experience with WordPress Advanced Custom Fields plugin preferred
  • Experience building web interfaces for multi-lingual global websites and/or web applications preferred • Experience with global web data privacy and cookie compliance preferred
  • Experience with web standards for accessibility preferred
  • Experience with digital marketing functions like SEO, UTMs, Google Analytics preferred but not required


This would be a 6-month contract with the intent/hope that it would convert to a full-time position after that, following excellent performance.
